6 SRS airbags and ELR seatbelts

Dual stage SRS front airbags, which measure the intensity of the collision and deploy accordingly, are fitted for both front seat occupants. Seat-mounted side airbags help reduce the likelihood of injury to front seat occupants during side collisions. Side curtain shield airbags help reduce the chance of injury to the head of front and rear seat outer occupants in a side impact. For added restraint, 3-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts have pretensioners which retract the seatbelt at moment of impact, and force limiters which help reduce the risk of chest injury.

Driver Assist Technology

Presara is equipped with a package of intelligent Driver Assist Technology (DAT) which enhances safety even in challenging conditions. If the car experiences front or rear wheel skidding when cornering, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) assists in bringing it back on course. When accelerating on marginal traction surfaces like wet or gravel roads, Traction Control (TRC) minimises drive wheel slippage ensuring that the car accelerates in the intended direction.

Intelligent AB-i braking system

Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i) integrates Presara's for improved stopping. AB-i comprises an Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) which minimises skidding when braking by controlling each brake calliper independently, enabling you to maintain steering control and steer around an obstacle under heaving braking. In emergencies, Brake Assist (BA) supplements your braking effort for shorter stopping distances. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) sends the right amount of braking effort to each wheel based on road conditions and load, for more controlled stopping.

Toyota Link

Wherever you travel you've the reassurance of Toyota Link# communication technology handily positioned in an overhead console. It lets you contact the Toyota Link call centre for roadside assistance or emergency support. If an airbag is deployed, Toyota Link can send for help when you can't. These are just some of the support services right at your fingertips.

Whiplash-lessening front seat design

To alleviate the impact to the neck area in the event of a rear end collision, Presara's advanced front seat is designed to suppress the relative movement between the head and body.

Reversing and Parking Assistance

Even reversing and parking are easier in the Presara. Select reverse and the exterior mirrors dip automatically allowing you to see the kerb. At the same time, a rear reversing camera displays a colour picture of what's immediately behind your rear bumper on the Satellite Navigation screen**. Leaving nothing to chance, sonar sensors in the front and rear bumpers sound alarms as you approach objects making it easier to manoeuvre into and out of tight parking spaces.

Increased use of high strength steel provides greater structural rigidity.
Cross section roof reinforcements help resist side collision load impact
For pedestrian safety, the underbonnet supporting structure and impact absorbing fender brackets help minimize collision impact.
